Dread Not

"Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there. Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;" Deuteronomy 1:28-30

The Anakims were giants much like Goliath. Men feared them because of their stature. These days we look around us and it seems that we as believers are surrounded by giants of every kind. The problem with giants is; they are visible and God is not. There are many times. I’m sure, that we are guarded by unseen angel hosts with chariots of fire, much like the prophet Elisha when surrounded by enemy hoards. We see the giants, but the angels are invisible, so we begin to be afraid. God is bigger than the power of silly men who think to rule by stealth, wealth and lies. We do not fight alone. There is a God who sees all and knows all and He fights for us, and none can withstand Him. The children of Israel had to do battle, to be sure, but the power and victory were always the Lord’s. We simply need to stand firm in our faith. The end result will be the annihilation of the wicked. They trust in their stature, we trust in the Lord. He is our Shade by day and our Light by night. All we have to do is follow. The giants don’t realize that they’ve already lost. David wrote that though ten thousand fall around him, yet he would not be afraid, because he trusted in God. Death is the biggest fear that we seem to have, but death is defeated for the believer in Christ. Death for the believer is simply Heaven’s Portal. How on earth can that hold any dread whatsoever? The Apostle said, “to be absent from the body” is to be “present with the Lord.” God is with you, now. You just can’t see Him. When the veil of your flesh falls away, you will see Jesus. He’s not going to come to get you at death, He stands waiting to receive you. If we do not have to fear death, what else is there to fear? Don’t be alarmed at the chaos. Let the sense of faith transport you to a haven of rest and safety.

The giants test our senses keen,
But God protects His own unseen,
We need not fear what men can do,
For faith will lead us calmly through. ~CGP

God’s Plan will not be thwarted by mere mortals or even the Great Lucifer or his legions. Those who follow pleasure will have it taken away forever. Those who follow God will have pleasures forevermore.

"And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies." 2 Samuel 22:2-4
AND THAT'S THE TRUTH!
